The Twilight Zone Game

Great news for Rod Serling fans.  Pre-production is underway for a movie based on his life.  Rod Serling was an incredible man with a very interesting life story.  Hopefully it’ll touch on his military service as well as his battles with the networks for creative and financial control of his various series.  Sadly he passed away at the age of 50 [edit: Not 55 as previously written.  Thanks reader Paul for the correction!].

Long time Oliver Stone collaborator Stanley Weiser is tapped to write the screenplay so I trust that it will be well written.  But who will play Rod Serling himself?  It’s a question that we will wrestle with when we try to find a great sound-alike and it’ll be even more important in this move.

Stanley Tucci? Jon Hamm? Who do you think should play Rod Serling?  Let us know in the comments!

I’m really looking forward to the movie. Rod Serling was an incredible person of our times, and probable genius in his field. Correction: He passed away at age 50, not 55 as stated above.

You’re quite correct, Mr. Serling passed away at age 50. Thanks for the correction, I just updated the post to reflect it. And I agree, he was so talented at writing. Not just Twilight Zone but also his amazing Emmy winning teleplays before Twilight Zone and the underrated The Night Gallery.
